Town Hall
Meetings
President Obama is an outstanding speaker -
That's why he does most of the talking.
Everything is going
crazy, especially our economy, politics,
even the weather - and
the
American people are hearing all the facts and rumors, such as:
“Are we
losing our Freedom…Are we not going to see or hear all the contents
in the Health
Care Bill (including all ear marks before voting)…Is
small
business going to be ignored
and
Over Taxed?…Is our Free
Speech, Radio,
TV, E-Mail, and other media be in danger of
being controlled by the powers that be?... Will
we Lose our Capitalistic form of
government that made our
country Great, and every citizen the opportunity to own
his own
Business, his Home, and Freedom.
We certainly saw some wild ones this
year on TV, some were fun, some very successful,
some a
little crazy, and some a waste of time. I was a little taken
back by some of the
so-called "professionals" who made an a..
out of their conduct...
There is a
Better Way.
After I retired from my own business, and since I had been a pow,
I joined the American Ex-Prisoners of War as a volunteer
for 15 years...
During that time, I attended enough Board
Meetings to know that
"there must be a better way" to keep from
making so many enemies.
At that time in my
life I had a house in Quincy Mass, about five blocks from
where
John Adams and Abigail lived. I don't know which one of them
wrote it,
but that's when I ran across the following 54 words
that every person should have
with them whenever they attend a
Board Meeting, a Town Hall Meeting,
or where ever. I think you
will agree.
(John Adams did
well with these words)
So can we.
"In almost every Board meeting, some members
will attempt to obtain influence
with noise not sense, by
meanness,
not greatness,
by ignorance, or small hearts, not
intelligence…
Members should show decency and respect, and veneration
introduced for persons of authority for every rank;
For any
responsible Board, or Assembly, this must be so..."
